Part II : Spotlight.

We love the spotlight. We want to be noticed, we love the applause and the likes on social media. If people will not give the spotlight we will put the spotlight on ourselves (via insta-stories). However, Christine Caine reminds us that what man gives (spotlight, attention, appreciation etc.), man can also destroy and take away. What light God gives, He will sustain and man cannot breakdown or take away. When the anointing is on us, God opens doors that man cannot shut.

When God develops you, He makes the light in you stronger than the light that is on you.

I have written a blog in the past “why does it always have to hurt”. I was frustrated why my heart was always in a place of pain, and refining. Now I understand — there is a strong connection between the “crushing” that occurs in a person’s life and the anointing that God gives.

Anointing happens through a crushing process. That is how new wined is made. We live in a generation where many are gifted but many do not want to be crushed. God wants those that are willing to be crushed. As God is processing, crushing and refining you — that is where the anointing comes.

As we grow into leaders we have a responsibility to allow God to do what needs to be done in us before we step into the spotlight. Our job is not to lead people to us, but our job is to use our gifts to lead people to the true Shepherd.
